Vietnam and Myanmar share no border, but we created the combined trip that takes you pleasantly from Bagan’s ancient temples to Halong Bay, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. On this journey, you will not miss the “Big Four” of Myanmar: Mandalay, Bagan, Inle Lake & Yangon. After the short regional flight included in the tour package, you will stopover in Vietnam’s captivating capital city, Hanoi, enriched with ancient architecture. Save the best for the last: Sail leisurely through Halong Bay’s emerald green waters past dramatic limestone karsts on a traditional junk boat. There are so many great things to discover within this ten day adventure.
DAY 1: MANDALAY ARRIVAL – CITY TOUR (-/-/-)
Our private tour guide & driver will welcome you at the airport and proceed to the tour. Following to Shwenandaw Monastery – noted for its exquisite wood carvings, gold leaf beating workshop, Kuthodaw Pagoda – known as the world biggest book and finish the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to watch the sunset and the panoramic view of the city.

DAY 2: SAGAING – INWA – UBEIN BRIDGE (B/-/-)
Today, we will transfer from the city to Sagaing Hill – known as the center for meditation, discover the monk education, visit Budda cave, Uminthonze pagoda, Khaungmudaw Pagoda and Sunooponnyashin pagoda. Behold the panoramic view of Mandalay.
Visit to another ancient capital, Ava, which was the capital of Myanmar before Amarpura.
Board a horse carriage and ride to the wooden Bagaya Monastery and the remains of the Royal Palace
Finish the day by walking over Ubein Wooden Bridge, is believed to be the longest and oldest teak wood bridge in the world.

DAY 3: MANDALAY – DRIVE TO BAGAN – HALF DAY BIKING (B/-/-)
Have breakfast at hotel. Our private tour guide & driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Bagan, it takes around 4 hours.
In the afternoon, you will take sightseeing by biking, Bagan is considered as one of the best biking destinations in the country. You can have fun and stay active as exploring the villages and learn more about the local life. You can have experience the back roads between rice fields, the scenic countryside and of course few ancient temples.
The highlight of today is the panoramic sunset view from pagodas.

DAY 4: EXPLORE BAGAN TEMPLES – BOAT SUNSET (B/-/-)
Today you will start your first Myanmar experience with a visit to local market Nyaung Oo Market, for a dose of local life and culture. Come to Shwezigone pagoda, which is believed to enshrine a bone and tooth of Gautama Buddha. Next to Wetkyi village – Wetkyi In Gubyaukgy temple. Going to Ananda, Sulamani Temple.
In the afternoon, we visit few temples nearby and discover the traditional way that local people make the lacquer wares which features a part the Bagan fame. We offer a beautiful sunset cruise on Ayeyarwaddy River for today, you could observe the lifestyle of fishermen and riverside villages, as well as enjoying the unique views of Bagan’s temples from the river.

DAY 5: FIVE-DAY MARKET – INDEIN – FLY TO YANGON (B/-/-)
This morning, you will visit the 5-day market which is hold in different villages surround the lake. This is definitely a fascinating place to enjoy the scene of local tribes in their colorful clothes and exotic market atmosphere.
After lunch, the boat will take you to beautiful temple of Indein, located on the hill overlooking the lake. It will be definitely relaxing to walk along the corridor and enjoy the giant columns which have been left to the nature for centuries. Go around Indein, visiting a local school and making your way to the top of AlaungSitthou. Stroll amid the weather worn stupas and enjoy magnificent views of the lake below. Leave Heho for Yangon.

DAY 6: LAKE BOAT TOUR – FLY TO YANGON (B/-/-)

DAY 7: YANGON CITY TOUR – FLY TO HANOI (B/-/-)
Spend your half day exploring Yangon, the heart of Yangon city; Chaukhtayi pagoda. Discover the most outstanding pagoda in Yangon: Shwedagon pagoda, the golden pagoda is really a must see while you are in Myanmar.
Transfer to the airport for flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, pick up & proceed to your hotel.

DAY 8: HANOI CITY TOUR (B/-/-)
After breakfast, meet your local guide at the hotel lobby then proceed to the Ba Dinh Square where stands the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh, who led Vietnam to independence from French colonial rule. This site has become an important city landmark and a perfect place to learn more about Vietnam’s rich history. From there, wander through the beautiful surrounding gardens toward the One Pillar Pagoda and Presidential Palace, where a replica of Ho Chi Minh’s simple working space is on display.
Next, visit the famous Temple of Literature that was built in 1070 and best known as the First National University of Vietnam.
Take an orientation walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, visiting Ngoc Son Temple. Later, continue visit Hanoi by riding electric car (35 minutes) around the Old Quarter to experience the exciting local daily life of Hanoians. Rest of the day you may like to stop at Ta Hien Street to enjoy a glass of local beer at its corner with all the locals surroundings. Conclude the day with a traditional Water Puppet Performance – a unique Vietnamese Art form hailing from Southeast Asia’s wet-rice culture.

DAY 9: HANOI – HALONG BAY – OVERNIGHT ON CRUISE (B/L/D)
Halong Bay is one of the most loved spots in Vietnam for a reason – it’s gorgeous. On this Halong Bay tour, we take you away from the hectic pace of life in Hanoi and introduce you to the tranquil, beautiful Halong Bay.
Following breakfast, journey east through the rich farmland of the Red River Delta to Halong Bay, truly one of Vietnam’s most scenic impressive sights. On arrival you are welcomed onboard a traditional junk. Settle into a private comfortable cabin and unpack for a two-day cruise around Halong Bay. Along the way, enjoy a huge lunch served on board and admire the picturesque scenery of islands. These limestone karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. You will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to Sung Sot Cave, one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. The remainder of day is for your own pleasure; observing the bay, lazing around the deck or simply soaking up the sunshine.

DAY 10 – HALONG BAY – HANOI – DEPARTURE (B/-/-)
Awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of the bay as you navigate back to Halong City. Your driver will take you to the airport for your departure flight. Tour concludes.
