DAY 1: SIEM REAP ARRIVAL (-/-/-)

Welcome to Siem Reap, the gateway into the Angkor temples. Designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Angkor Archaeological Park encompasses dozens of temple ruins including Bayon, Banteay Srei and the legendary Angkor Wat. Upon arrival, our tour guide and driver will welcome you at the airport and drive you to the hotel (check in time is at 14:00, early check in is subject to availability). Free at leisure to recover from the jetlag.

DAY 2: ANGKOR TEMPLE EXPLORATION – BANTEAY SREI (B/-/-) 

We begin the busy but interesting day by a drive from the hotel to the jungle-covered temple of Ta Prohm which is a wonderful combination of human genius and natural beauty with its giant trees that have grown there for centuries. The temple became more famous after Tomb Raider was filmed there. 

You’ll continue your exploration by a stop at Preah Khan meaning “Holy Sword”. This is one of the largest temple compounds in Angkor and is defended by four concentric walls. The main shrine and its adjoining buildings are richly decorated with Buddhist motifs and scenes from Hindu epics. 

Drive further through the North Gate of Angkor Thom to see the enigmatic faces of Bayon Temple that’s known as the heart of Angkor Thom. 

Lunch is on your own, our suggestion is near Srah Srang at a local restaurant on the way for your most convenience.

In the afternoon, proceed further to visit Banteay Srei that is also one of the must- see sites. This beautiful temple was built in 967 AD by Jayavarman V’s guru, it showcases the most exquisite, deep and complex carvings in all Khmer architecture.

  • Angkor Thom -> Banteay Srei: 13 miles ~ 30 minute driving transfer

DAY 3: ANGKOR WAT AT SUNRISE – TONLE SAP LAKE (B/-/-)

Wake before dawn and take a tuk-tuk ride to visit the magnificent Angkor Wat – the largest Khmer temple and finest example of Angkorian art and architecture. Dawn is one of the most beautiful and haunting times to visit the temples, whose ancient sandstone blocks are painted gold by the early morning rays. 

We can return to hotel for breakfast or ask the hotel to arrange the breakfast box to enjoy en route for the most convenience. 

In the afternoon, drive out of town to have a closer look to Khmer people’s local life. You proceed the tour to Kampong Phluk floating village – a must see on Tonle Sap Lake and less touristy than Chong Kneas Floating Village. Board a boat and visit the floating village before heading to the nearby flooded mangrove forests. Keep your camera to hand as you witness the stilted houses of Kompong Phluk village and pass a scenic panorama of floating markets, fish farms ect. Stay there to enjoy the best sunset from the lake.

DAY 4: SIEM REAP – FLY TO MANDALAY VIA BANGKOK (B/-/-)

You are free to explore the Psar Chass, also known as the “Old Market or hang around the hotel pool until getting transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Mandalay. Our local tour guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel for check-in.

DAY 5: MANDALAY CITY – INWA – UBEIN BRIDGE (B/-/-)

Known as the hub of Buddhism in Myanmar, Mandalay has a realm of stupas, monks and monasteries. The most fascinating visit will be the time you witness monks during their worship and daily meals. In the morning, visit Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery – noted for its exquisite woodcarvings, gold leaf beating workshop and Kuthodaw Pagoda – known for containing the world’s largest book and conclude the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to watch the sunset and the panoramic view of the city.

Then we then cross the river by ferry to Inwa (Ava), situated on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. Once a royal capital, Inwa is now a quiet rural oasis. Enjoy a horse cart ride around the peaceful countryside, visiting Bagaya Kyaung, a beautiful teak wood monastery, Maha Aungmyay Bonzan Kyaung, and Nan Myint tower.

End of the day, walk over Ubein Wooden Bridge, the longest teakwood of its type & enjoy a great sunset view here.

DAY 6: MANDALAY – DRIVE TO BAGAN – BAGAN EXPLORE BY E-BIKE (B/-/-)

This morning, you will take 4 hour countryside driver by car to Bagan.

On arrival, check in the hotel and late meet up our local guide and head out for a leisure e-bike tour around Myanmar’s archaeological wonderland. Bagan has been recently listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where over 2,000 ancient temples blossom from the countryside.

Later, in the afternoon, you will enjoy the sunset time at one of the hills in the zone.

Distance: Mandalay -> Bagan: 111 miles ~ 4 hour driving transfer

DAY 7: BAGAN SIGHTSEEING (B/-/-)

Start your tour with a trip to the bustling Nyang U Market in Old Bagan then explore the beautiful, gold leaf Shwezigon Pagoda and learn about Burmese Buddhist traditions. Next, visit Wetki-In Gubyaukgyi cave temple, That bin Nyu, Ananda Temple, Dhammayan Gyi Temple, Shwesandaw, Htilominlo temple and nearby temples. Then, continue your visit to Myinkaba temple, then head to the peaceful village, Manuha to get a taste for local life and culture and discover the unique 11th century, Nanphay A temple.

DAY 8: BAGAN – FLY TO HEHO – INLE LAKE DISCOVERY (B/-/-)

Leave Bagan for Inle Lake. Upon arrival, our tour guide & driver will pick you up and proceed to the tour.

Inle Lake, the second largest lake in Myanmar, is located 900 meters above sea level. The lake is home to the Intha People, a Tibeto-Burman ethnic group, known for their one leg rowing techniques. 

Board a motorboat for sightseeing to Phaungdawoo Pagoda, famed for its richly gilded five small Buddha images and also believed to be the holiest in Inle Lake. Our next visit is Ngaphechaung Monastery, once known as “jumping cat” pagoda. As you travel further into Nam Pan village cotton and lotus weaving factories and cigar making houses will impress you with a sense of traditional Intha life.

  • Heho Airport -> Heho City Centre: 3.2 miles ~ 7 minute driving transfer

DAY 9: INLE LAKE – FIVE-DAY MARKET & INDEIN PAGODA (B/-/-)

This morning, you will visit the 5-Day Market, which is held in different villages surrounding the lake. This is definitely a fascinating place to enjoy the scene of local tribes in their colorful clothes and exotic market atmosphere.

The boat will then take you to beautiful temple of Indein, located on the hill overlooking the lake. It will certainly be relaxing to walk along the corridor and enjoy the giant columns which have been left nature for centuries.

Rest of the day is free to relax at your resort.

DAY 10: INLE LAKE – HEHO – FLY TO YANGON & CITY TOUR (B/-/Farewell dinner)

 After breakfast, return to Yangon, continue your guided city tour exploring Yangon and its highlights. 

Visit Chaukhtayi pagoda and the Scott Market, now the main tourist destination where you can find antique, Burmese handicrafts & jewelry shops, art galleries & clothing stores. After that, discover the most outstanding pagoda in Yangon, Shwedagon Pagoda. This golden pagoda is really a must see while you are in Myanmar.

The highlight for this evening is a dinner in Karaweik Palace overlooking to the Royal Lake and Shwedagon Tower. You will be served a buffet dinner of fine Burmese food followed by an amazing cultural show.

DAY 11: YANGON DEPARTURE (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you are free until your departure time. Our driver will transfer you to Yangon International Airport for the flight home.
