PHNOM PENH – KAMPONG KLEANG - SIEM REAP
Embark on a captivating 5-day journey through Cambodia, exploring its most iconic landmarks and hidden cultural treasures. Begin in Phnom Penh, where royal grandeur meets colonial charm with visits to the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, National Museum, and Wat Phnom. Travel north to Siem Reap via the scenic countryside, stopping at the Spider Market and the remarkable stilted village of Kampong Khleang on Tonle Sap Lake. Dive into the majestic Angkor complex with the grandeur of Angkor Wat, the serene faces of Bayon Temple, and the jungle-covered mystery of Ta Prohm. Venture further into the Grand Circuit to uncover the pink sandstone carvings of Banteay Srei, and lesser known yet equally impressive temples like Preah Khan and Neak Pean. This journey blends history, spirituality, and rural life into an unforgettable Cambodian experience.
DAY 1: PHNOM PENH ARRIVAL - CITY TOUR (ROYAL PALACE, NATIONAL MUSEUM, WAT PHNOM) (-/L/-)
Upon arrival at Phnom Penh by speedboat from Chau Doc, greeted by our driver at pier and transferred to hotel for check in.
Afternoon, visit to the Royal Palace, serves as the residenc e of the King, a venue for court ceremony and as a symbol of the Kingdom. Inside the Palace grounds street sounds are silenced by the high walls and the royal buildings. Attached to the Palace compound, Wat Preah Keo Morokat (Silver Pagoda) is unique amongst pagodas; it is so named for its 5000 silver tiled floors.
Continue to visit National Museum, the distinctive red building with a beautiful Khmer architecture was built since 1917 and contains more than 5000 art objects made of sandstone, bronze, silver, copper, wood and others. Last stop at Wat Phnom Temple, a small hill crowned by an active Wat (Pagoda) marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh.

DAY 2: PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP VS SKUN - KAMPONG KHLEANG (B/L/-)
After breakfast at hotel, check out hotel and transfer with driver and guide to Siem Reap. Driving distance is 312 km (Approximate 5 hours drive).
Along the way we will stop for short break at Skuon, known as Spider Market (75 km from the capital), a highway town popular for its fried spiders as a special snack. Continue the road and visit at Kampong Kdei Bridge, Preah Toes Bridge or Spean Kampong Kdei. It is a large ancient laterite bridge measuring 86m long and 14m wide with 21 arches and topped by a sandstone balustrade with stunning ornamental nagas.
Continue the road and stop for last visit at one of the largest and least-visited villages on the Tonle Sap Lake, Kompong Khleang, about 55km from Siem Reap. It’s population of 10,000 all make a living from the fishing industry. We explore the canals (wet season) or streets (dry season) of this incredible town. In the wet season, the houses appear to be floating, as water laps at the verandas, but in the dry season towering stilts are revealed, the houses almost like wooden skyscrapers. We will take a boat and cruise into the open water of the great lake to see a small floating village and learn some more about this incredible natural flood barrier.
After floating village visit, continue the road to Siem Reap and transfer directly to hotel for check in and rest.

DAY 3: FULL DAY ANGKOR TOUR - MAIN TEMPLES (ANGKOR THOM - TA PROHM – ANGKOR WAT) (B/L/-)
Breakfast at hotel, visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12 century): the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Continue visit Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery.
Afternoon, visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor, Angkor Wat, the temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. If time and energy permitted visit Old market for some souvenirs for friends and families.

DAY 4: FULL DAY BANTEAY SREI - GRAND CIRCUIT TEMPLES (B/L/-)
After breakfast at hotel drive to the enchanting temple of Banteay Srei, everyone’s favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of its decorative carvings. Then continue your visit to Banteay Samre, built in the third quarter of the 12th century. It consists of a central temple with four wings, preceded by a hall, and accompanied by two libraries; the southern example is remarkably well preserved. Make a short stop at Pradak Village, where you will see the villagers making palm sugar, handicraft for selling to tourist. It’s a nice chance for you to see the local people living at the country side with their struggling for daily life.
Afternoon visit Preah Khan temple, was built by the King Jayavarman VII, Preah Khan, like Ta Prohm, a place of towered enclosures and shoulder -hugging corridors. Continue your visit to Neak Pean, a fountain (built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake. Next, we will visit Ta Prohm Temple, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. The temple of Ta Prohm was once used as a location in the famous Hollywood film Tomb Raider.
